Group activity with the male moves forward with 15 group sessions. The group comes together once a week for one hour and a half. The group itself is a professional directed peer support group. The participants of the group have given the group program the name VETURY ( peer support group).
During the group program the male meets other men who are in the same situations. Men during the group process can exchange experiences and tell what kind of violence there has been and to listen to other men’s experiences. In the group, the men together can find methods and models for non-violence within relationships and family function ability.
After the group program has finished the man is met by way of individual meetings as long as deemed necessary and beneficial. The working process between the man and counsellor ends on the basis of the discussions. Within the working process finishing discussion of possible future plans are normally discussed. Especially from the stand point of the relationship brings various different supporting forms, which from the viewpoint of the relationship has other development needs available.
After the alternative to violence program has finished follow up meetings are fulfilled half a year after the working process has finished. During the follow up, evaluation of the man’s non violence is assessed at the point of the man’s life situation. The results of the follow up are to also gain valuable information for the development of Lyömätön Linja.
